SemSeg - 4D Space-Time Topology
for Semantic Flow Segmentation,
a collaborative research effort of four partners
that is funded by the European Commission in the
Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) programme
(within the
Seventh Framework Programme for Research).
 The image, taken in April 2010
in the context of the first SemSeg workshop
in Vienna, Austria,
shows (a relatively fair subset of) the project partners from ETH Zürich,
VRVis in Vienna, the University of Magdeburg, and the University of Bergen,
standing on a map of Europe (and approximately where they usually are).

 | 2011-06-24 | | Workshop on Topology in Fluid Flow Visualization in Pisa | A one-day workshop, entitled ''Workshop on Topology
in Fluid Flow Visualization'', was organized in Pisa, Italy,
to bring together experts from different fields,
including scientific visualization, astrophysics, geophysics,
applied mathematics, computer vision,
and computational fluid dynamics.
Nine highly interesting presentations were given by

joint state of the art report (STAR) that attempts to cover
a larger number of papers that relate to the research focus
of the SemSeg project (4D space-time topology for semantic
flow segmentation).
The next step wrt. this STAR is to submit it for
a possible publication.
 | 2009-09-09 | | First announcement of the TopoInVis 2011 workshop | In 2011,
the fourth workshop on topology-based methods
in data analysis and visualization (TopoInVis 2011)
will take place in
Switzerland, organized by ETH Zürich.

to the European Commission as project deliverable Del 1.1.
The first deliverable of such a project is always something special,
it's kind of the first achivement of the project and thus we
are glad to see the project going.
 | 2009-06-13 | | KickOff meeting in Magdeburg | All four partners have followed the invitation of the
University in Magdeburg to join the Kick-Off meeting of
the SemSeg project. We are glad to report that meeting
was diven by great motivation to quickly start with the
challenging project work.
 | 2009-06-01 | | Start of the SemSeg project | We have started the SemSeg project as started on 1st of June.
We are fortunate to also have our project team ready right
from the start. With this we look forward to interesting
years in this project to come! ;-)
